Senior QA Engineer – Automation Lead

We're seeking an experienced Senior QA Engineer – Automation Lead to join growing team in Prague. You'll be pivotal in establishing end-to-end test automation for a high-visibility strategic project for a well-known automotive brand focused on 15+ systems within the HWP (Human Work Planning) domain.You'll shape the QA strategy and ensure platform stability and quality across multiple integrated components. You'll collaborate with existing QA colleagues and will be joined by another testers. The focus is on hands-on Cypress automation, test planning, and process improvement.

Your Mission:

• Pioneer Test Automation Vision for a Leading Automotive Brand: Take full ownership of developing and implementing our end-to-end test automation strategy, with a strong emphasis on Cypress, for a strategic project with a well-known automotive brand.
• Architect Comprehensive Test Plans for a Complex Ecosystem: Define and meticulously maintain end-to-end test plans across 15+ integrated systems.
• Build a Robust Automation Framework for a Key Initiative: Design, develop, and maintain high-quality automated test cases using JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Integrate Quality Seamlessly into the Workflow: Embed testing directly into our CI/CD pipelines (GitLab/Jenkins) for continuous quality assurance.
• Drive Visibility and Accountability for the Platform: Track test coverage and manage bugs effectively using Jira and Zephyr.
• Collaborate and Elevate within the Team: Work closely with developers, architects, and existing QA professionals, and mentor a future team member, to foster a culture of quality.
• Explore API Testing for Automotive Systems: Optionally contribute to API testing using tools like Postman or JMeter.
• Drive Process Improvement: Identify and implement strategies to enhance our QA processes and efficiency.

What You'll Bring:

• Proven track record of 6+ years in Quality Assurance, with significant experience leading automation efforts and coordinating testing activities, ideally within complex, multi-system environments.
• Mastery of Cypress, including extensive experience with JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with Zephyr, Jira, and CI/CD tools (GitLab/Jenkins preferred).
• Solid understanding of AWS fundamentals and basic SQL.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is a plus.
• Fluency in both Czech and English (B2 level or higher) is essential for effective communication within the international context of a well-known automotive brand.
• A proactive, well-organized approach with excellent communication and teamwork abilities, and a passion for driving process improvement.
